Infineon Technologies is acquiring Bengaluru-based C2i Semiconductors to strengthen power management for AI data centres. Announced August 24, close expected Q3 2026.
C2i CEO and co-founder Ram Anant had told that AI server boards can carry dozens of power stages, with one motherboard he had seen featuring 144 such stages across two GPUs. He also added that the deal would help accelerate its work on software-defined power architectures and take its technology to customers worldwide.
C2i—founded 2024 by semiconductor veterans—brings fabless chip expertise into Infineon's India R&D footprint. This is strategic: AI infrastructure demand for power chips is accelerating, and Infineon is anchoring that capability in #Bengaluru.
