SES EXPANDS CHENNAI GCC

SES is scaling its Chennai Global Capability Centre as India solidifies its position in satellite technology.

The inauguration was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel and Minister for the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Lex Delles and Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to India, H.E. Mr. Christian Biever.

“The inauguration of our new Chennai office marks an important milestone for SES and highlights our long-term commitment to India,” said Adel Al Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of SES.

The expansion signals 2 things: (1) satellite comms demand is real, not hype; (2) tier-2 cities beyond Bangalore are now competitive for deep tech talent. SES chose Chennai for a reason—engineering density, cost structure, and access to aerospace-adjacent skills.

📍 GCC ERA tracks 1,800+ centres across India. What we're seeing: satellite/space tech is the next wave after software services. Roles filling fastest? Systems engineers, RF specialists, embedded firmware teams.
