What these numbers are — and what they are not
Every count on this page measures GCC ERA's crawl coverage, not the Indian GCC market. We index a subset of employers and job boards, and that subset is uneven across cities. Read every figure as a floor for what we can see, never as a census of what exists.
We can show you the artifact directly. Our full-corpus ordering ranks Hyderabad fourth, below Mumbai and Gurugram — which contradicts the industry consensus that Hyderabad is a top-two or top-three GCC hub. That tells you plainly what this is: a picture of our crawl, not of the market. We publish it labelled rather than quietly adjusted.
Two scopes appear below and they are not interchangeable. The "city sample" figures and the "full corpus" figures are drawn on different bases, so compare each only against its own counterpart city — never a sample figure against a corpus figure.

Pay: why we will not give you a city gap
We have no city-level GCC salary data, so we publish national bands instead of a made-up Bengaluru-versus-Hyderabad percentage. Our licensed source, the Michael Page India Salary Guide 2026, reports bands nationally and does not split them by city. Only 797 of our 73,176 job rows carry a real salary figure, and we hold no user-submitted pay data at all. Anyone quoting you a precise city pay gap is estimating.

- Pick Bengaluru if you want optionality
- Ninety-one employers against forty-eight means roughly twice as many independent hiring processes you can run at once, and twice as many places to move to after this job. If you are early in your career or unsure of your domain, breadth is worth more than anything else on this page.
- Pick Hyderabad if your domain is there

Because that ordering is an artifact of our crawl coverage, not a finding about the market. Industry consensus puts Hyderabad among India's top two or three GCC hubs, and our full-corpus ordering disagrees with that. We publish the number with the caveat attached rather than quietly adjusting it, because a silently corrected dataset is worse than an honestly labelled one.

Choose Bengaluru for the widest employer choice and the deepest market to switch within; choose Hyderabad for a strong financial-services and cloud concentration with less competition per role. A GCC role puts you on the payroll of the company whose product or function you work on, not on a vendor's payroll. Our quality gate drops applicant-tracking-system error pages and 26 named employers we classify as IT services, BPO, consulting or staffing. Of 73,176 active rows, 25,495 pass that gate.
